On Saturday I visited a Salvador Dali exhibition with my Mom and sister. Unfortunately it was forbidden to take pictures inside, so I have one for you from Google :D It was a private collection, so no really well known paintings. They were mostly lithographies, I even took notes on some that I liked for reviewing later, but I can't find them online, probably because they are really lesser known. Also there were some ceramics and statues and an interactive section where you could take your inner surrealist out :D 

I am finally adjusting to my new work schedule, so this blog will hopefully be alive once again. I have a couple DIYs planned, fun next weekend with my sister that I will definitely post about :) and the weather is getting nice, so everything seems great right now ...

Happy Valentine's day

My boyfriend and I don't celebrate V-day :) we are going out with friends tonight just like any other Friday :) But my sister has to work today, and the club has a Valentine's day party. She hates it and so I had this idea to make something for her :D :D :D it's a brooch so she can wear it on her work tee :D and give everyone the idea :P not sure if the boss is gonna like it, but she said she'll wear it anyway :D

DIY: Bloodsucker :)

My sister had this idea for a t-shirt she wanted to make for her boyfriend (who I hear is a big vampire fan :D ) and she asked me to help her with it :) it's inspired by some picture she found on the internet :D  (haha so much for credits :D :D :D - source google :D ) Last time we worked on something like this together was back in high school where we made a creepy crime scene outline figure :P 

She picked a fancy font in which to do the writing, but then she wanted to add the blood-like red stains so I talked her into using simple and classic Times :D we wrote it in OpenOffice, then printed out and traced lightly onto the shirt... no rocket science there... 

First she had me paint the red bloody stains because she thought she would mess it up (that was the point I guess, but well :D, I did it...)  and then we did the black :) 

 

In the end she wanted me to add some red splashes around... this in my opinion makes it almost a zombie walk t-shirt, but she has what she asked for :D I like it, and if there ever is a zombiewalk event again, I think we'll have so much fun making our costumes :D 

I hope to have a picture of her bf wearing this very soon, so I can add the picture here :D 

Sew tiny!

As you may know, I got kind of obsessed with my new Monster High doll :D (not childish at all, after some research I found there are many adults obsessed with customizing and creating their own dolls, even naming them, photoshooting with them ... :P )

Well, while I was organizing my sewing supplies and going through my patterns, I stumbled upon some leftover lace (from spring when I was obsessed with sewing it on socks :D ) and my basket of fabric leftovers, so I decided to sew for my super cool Operetta the Monster :) And as my five year old sister also got her Monster high - Draculaura, I decided I could sew a dress for her too :) 

This dress you see here is actually meant for Draculaura, as her color theme is pink and black. This pink fabric is cotton I used to line my sister's spiky clutch and when I saw it in the basket I knew I had to use it :D 

To make the dress I first measured some parts of the doll's body such as waist (1 cm diameter - envy!), body length and some more. I started with a circle just as if I was making a circle skirt for myself.Then I cut it out into hexagon to make it all spiderweb shaped.  I was going to embroider the spiderweb on, but I need to get rid of my black fabric paint so it doesn't dry out, so I ended up painting it on. It turned out quite cool i think ;) Next I sew lace all around the diameter. I cut a slightly bigger circle of stiff tulle for an underskirt and basted them together. 

Next I made a bodice, I only measured the length and eyeballed the rest (these dolls are really monstrous in proportion, they have super tiny waist and boobs the same width as hips...). The bodice looked a bit plain so I added a strip of lace on top as well. 

The worst part was attaching a velcro to the back! pain in the ass, but unfortunately it's necessary for the dresses to be wearable :( It's a bit weird, I'm ashamed to say I had no idea how to sew it in, so the result is the back part of the dress sticks out a bit. Thank god for Draculaura's long hair to cover it :D 

As I was in the making already, I decided to make a little matching hairbow for my sweet sister to wear. I hope she likes it as much as I do :D

Buzz

Today I spent the afternoon with my friend getting another tattoo :) (number 6) We decided on it last Wednesday, when our friend came to the pub with a new tattoo :) we both had ideas and were waiting to make them permanent, we both had money saved and since she leaves on the 9th Jan, we wanted to do this together before she leaves. Luckily for us, the tattoo artist was free today :) He is great big dude with cool sense of humor and before he actually started tattooing, we spent an hour just chatting and laughing :D if you are interested in more of his work here is a link to his Facebook page.

I was a bit scared because I heard many scary stories about tattooing over bones, but in the end, it wasn't as bad as I tought. I was distracted by my friend and the mister himself and only felt real pain a couple times near my toes and around the top... I will be getting a matching one on my other foot too:)

If there are any Supernatural fans reading this, you may recognize the gun and the saying 'Non Timebo Mala'. It is the demon killing colt and these words are written on it... It's latin and means 'I shall fear no evil'. I really liked it since I first saw it on the show and yes, I am that kind of fangirl :D (my first tattoo was a Bob Marley and Zion related Lion of Judah :P ) I really like the meaning and the gun was supposed to be just a symbol, a reminder to keep fighting... I love it so much, the way it looks, I'm getting the same gun mirrored on my other foot with words 'Intus mihi vires' which means 'Strenght comes from within me'. I wanted to get those words with a rosary tied around my ankle, but this will look much more awesome and the meaning stays the same....

Tablet cover DIY

O mém kreslícím tabletu jsem už psala :) brzo se podělím i o další pokusy které na něm páchám :P No ale... od té doby co ho mám jsem ho měla zabalený v sáčku aby se na něj neprášilo... ale sáček není moc cool žejo :) takže bylo potřeba vytvořit obal, aby se tam vešel tablet i se šňůrou, stojánkem a perem.

I already wrote about my new drawing tablet... soon I'll share some stuff I've been doing on it :) But since I got it, I kept it in a plastic bag to keep from dust. Well to be honest, plastic bag isn't exactly a pretty thing to store on your window, so I needed to create a pouch to store my tablet with wire, pen and the plastic stand.

 použila jsem svoji oblíbenou soví látku na vnějšek, puntíčky na vnitřek a to bílé na fotce je takové měkké plastové něco, úplně parádní :) aby se tabletku nic nestalo :)

I used my favorite owl print for outside, polka dot for inside, and that white thing in the picture, is super awesome plastic soft thing... to keep the tablet safe :)

 mnohem lepší než sáček, ne ?

geeky wishlist

naprosto zbožňuju stránku Think Geek. jak název napovídá, mají tam samé vtipné geeky věcičky. trička, udělátka, hračky... s tématikou komiksů, Star wars, Star treku, Doktora Who a dalších parádních věcí :) moooc si přeju balíček z tama na vánoce nebo narozeniny :D a tady něco z těch parádiček :D

tak tuhle hru naprosto nutně potřebuju. teorie velkého třesku je můj nejoblíbenější seriál už několik let,na každý nový díl se těším jak na vánoce :) škoda že ta hra je v angličtině a většina mých kamarádů to zná jenom česky... :( 

tuhle tašku vídám na spoustě různých online obchodů... a mocmocmoc ji chcíííí <3

tohleto mají i na metalshopu a mooooooc to chci <3 mother of dragons ... 

miluju funky tvořítka na led, a myslím že tohle tady už možná bylo... ale je prostě boží a chci si rozpustit svého Hana v rumíku :D :D :D

Lego Moleskine... parádní zápisník a ještě  si něj můžu postavit svého legového Stormtroopera :) 

samozřejmě že je tam milion parádních věcí, ale tohle jsou ty nej nej :D
