News

I was busy the last few days with work, catching up with friends and life in general :) Today, finally I had a day off, so I spent it helping my Mom clean our apartment, then we went for lunch ( Mexican restaurant, yum) and shopping. Next month I'll celebrate my birthday, and as Fall/winter stuff is already sold in stores, my Mom decided to give me a birthday gift a month too early :D and she bought me some other stuff too, such as socks, hair ties and tiny necessities ;) 

I absolutely love this pillow, even though I have so many of them, I might need a bigger bed soon :D (but still there are so many pillows Id like to have) they also had a second version with the owl's body made of tweed, I might need that one too :D  

Mom bought me those cute socks, because our washing mashine seems to be eating them (does it happen to anyone else ? :D ) and I got the current issue of Burda. There are some pretty patterns that I want to sew for Fall, so I need to plan a trip to a fabric store :) 

And finally, my early birthday gift.... It was love at first sight... I'm speechless, those are the ultimate dream boots, I already have a milion outfits planned with them, hopefully I will be able to capture some of them :)

Two weeks for now there's a flea market in my town, so if the weather allows I will go and sell some of my creations :) Tomorrow and the next few days will be filled with crafting and creating :) Get ready to see a lot of earrings and stuff :D 

DIY: Embroidered owl tote

projektík který jsem si vysnila a dlouho jsem se na něj těšila... soví taška :) původně jsem sovu chtěla malovat, ale protože mi zaschla barva na látku a v dohledné době byl tohle jediný projekt na který jsem ji potřebovala, nechtěla jsem si kupovat novou... tak jsem sáhla po niti a bavlnce :) čistého času to zabralo 4,5 hodiny, rozdělené asi do dvou týdnů, protože mě vždycky něco vyrušilo... 

práce to byla celkem jednoduchá. vytiskla jsem si obrázek z gůglu na A4 aby zabíral co největší plochu papíru. potom jsem ho přišpendlila a začala vyšívat...takový ten klasický steh který jsme se učili na základce v pracovním vyučování :D a každá kontura objetá dvakrát aby se vyplnily ty mezery mezi stehy :D na fotce to asi není moc vidět, ale abych výšivce dodala na zajímavosti a hloubce, použila jsem na obrys dvojitou nit a uvnitř sovy jednoduchou... a zjistila jsem že se tváří hrozně zle... papír se z hotové výšivky jednoduše odstraní, velké kusy kolem jsem odstříhala, něco otrhala, a když už to nešlo, nechala jsem ho rozmočit a odrhla starým kartáčkem na zuby :D lepší řešení by byl ten sublimační papír :)

i was looking forward to this project for a long time... owl tote :) I originally intended to paint the owl on the fabric, but s my fabric paint was dried out and since I dont have any fabric painting project planned for near future I decided not to buy the paint and went with embroidery instead. It took me 4,5 hours spread over 2 weeks in order to complete, something always distracted me.

it was quite simple to do. I printed out a picture from google, pinned it to my tote and started stitching away. I used the stitch we learned in primary school art class :) dont know the name of it though...I went over every line twice, to fill up the blanks the stitch makes. You can't tell from the picture, but for added depth and interest I decided to use a double floss and only single strand for inner lines. and I found out my owl looks really angry and evil. To remove the paper i simply cut the bigger pieces around the edges, torn some apart and what was left after that, I soaked and then brushed off with an old toothbrush. Now that I think about it, there are some temporary glue papers that could work for this :D
