Merry Christmas, everyone!

2nd Advent

Yesterday we baked gingerbread and I spent all afternoon and today morning decorating them. My hand is sore, but i think it was worth it. In this picture is only our share, we also baked for grandma - I decorated them yesterday and now we are headed to her place to deliver them :) 

Small pictures are my best favorite ones - moose which now has his leg broken (thanks mom :d), Nightmare bfore christmas inspired stars and simple angel. The heart I gave my boyfriend :) 

1st Advent

Just a quick post today, to show how we spent the first advent sunday - by decorating the house as we always do. This year we changed up a bit and didnt decorate the staircase, but made garlands above every door instead. I absolutely love the little deer head I bought yesterday in Tesco :)

Summer random

Hello, Im alive :) I was so busy with having all the summertime fun, I completely  forgot about this space (and some other stuff :D ) Today Im leaving for a camping weekend, so in the little spare time I have between packing, I made these little collages :)

In the beginning of July we celebrated my sister's bachelor degree in Ostrava by visiting a zoo, yummy drinks, yummy food and fun :) 

Some stuff I bought over the summer, and what I made and what I wore :)

After Im back from the camping trip, I will share some pictures from the music festivals I been to this summer. I have some pictures but no time to see them at all :D Now excuse me, I have to go make a playlist for the super fun trip ahead of me ...

I was planning to go to Prague for some time now, since I found out about Tim Burton exhibition. First I had no money :) then I had no time, now I made plans with my sister to go, but she had no time. So last week I decided I will go on my own. I called my cousin if I could sleep over at his house, he said yes and that was it. So after I finished work on Friday, I rushed home to pack a few essentials and get on the train. It took me three hours to get there, but it was well worth it. 

On Friday we went for a walk, the city wass full of partying people, everybody screaming and drunk and as we only wanted to get some beers and chat, we decided to go back to my cousin's part of town, more quiet. We went to a smaller pub for beers and that was it. On Saturday morning we woke up, went to KFC for breakfast :D and then to Tim Burton exhibition. It was awesome, but unfortunately photographing was not allowed... So we had to sink it in, we discussed almost every single sketch and puppet, it was really awesome... I also was inspired to take out my own sketchbook and draw again after a very long time...

After the exhibition I wanted to do some shopping and we were supposed to meet a friend in Palladium shopping centre. I went to a few selected shops (see below what I bought :D ), than our friend finally arrived and we went to a comic book store (I had my own TBBT moment while flipping through comic books :) I wish Id bought some ... ) and he told us about a farmers market nearby. We went there, smelled all the delicious food, ate some and then went for some beers again :D and after that, it was time for me to catch the train again...

Family reunion

Every year, the last weekend of may is dedicated to a family reunion. This year it took place near the lovely town called Zlaté Hory (=golden mountains) its on the border with Poland and in the past they used to mine gold in there - clue is in the name :)

Christmas Eve

Some pictures from yesterday. It was very nice and calm day full of TV stories (Penguins of Madagascar, Despicable me... :D ) and fun topped with yummy dinner, Christmas traditions and presents :) 

I bought extra long sparklers and we fired them on the balcony :)  

One of the traditions - put candles in nut shells and let them float. This should determine the length of your life, if it sinks you die soon. But luckily we all had ours floating until the very end... Happy lives ahead :)

I got some clothes, really lovely. 2 cool sweaters, awesome shoes I can't wait to wear, skeleton print leggings and sugar skull top from my sister. I also got a tablet, coat and some money.

The coat I got is very similar to the one from my christmas wishlist. So basically everything I wanted I got, except for the headphones, but I don't really need them, I just loved the way they looked...:)

I am very happy with how our Christmas day went on, I think that is how Christmas should be, with family and close ones, and although I had to go to work later, I had a nice day (I don't get the new emerging trend of people going to clubs on Christmas Eve, I believe it is meant to be spent with family and in many cases it's actually the only time of the year families spend together - not us, we are very close - but the club I work at was packed full until 6 am... ). I will share some more pictures of holiday traditions after I celebrate with my father.

3rd Advent - delayed :D

I was so busy last weekend, I completely forgot to share these... Some more photos from holiday atmosphere around here :) And a sneak peek of our beautiful christmas tree :) I'll show you next Sunday :D

Name day

Today is my name day - Lucie. This day is not celebrated in the Czech republic, but there are other countries where they hold traditional light parades. Of course i get some gifts for the name day, usually some money and chocolate or a book. This year I got Dan Brown's new book (which is really awesome so far!) and my favorite cpt. Morgan with a glass and a headscarf :)  And my sister gave me the cutest plush fox :)

I'm going to celebrate this year by lighting some candles and possibly staying up all night to protect myself from the evil female demon Lussi that in some countries is believed to lead her followers to something similar of a Wild hunt. You can read more about St.Lucia's day traditions on Wiki

St.Nicolas

St. Nicolas came to our house and brought some presents :) 

Only kids usually get stuff for St. Nicolas day, but our mommy is so sweet she keeps giving us little gifts even now :) I got shower peeling with Dead Sea minerals, hand-warming satchet and little box with mints saying Guess where I am tattooed :D :D :D cool

1st Advent Sunday

With the first Advent Sunday, it's time to start sharing our decor and Christmas inspired DIY :) I'm not making any decorations in advance, I just make whatever Mom asks me to or what I think would look nice in our home. That's the reason why I'm not sharing any DIYs now, because I don't have any yet :D For today I want to show you the pictures of our first decoration hung - the staircase leading to our apartment.

those two huge planters were on the balcony, maybe you remember them from this summer post. Mom and I brought them inside so they won't freeze over. Same with the small flower pots. And we decided to decorate them too :) I spend all morning doing this and the stairs :) I was wearing my Santa hat all the time and the neigbors passing around asked me for presents :D 

4th of July

Of course we don't celebrate Independence day in Czech republic... we have our own days celebrating our state. But I love any opportunity to dress up for occasions. St.Patrick's day, Halloween, theme parties, I'm all up for it :) I wore my favorite canvas sneakers, star printed tee and white skirt. Super simple and comfortable, but I felt pretty and up to today's theme :)

And coincidentally, my Mom had the idea to buy donuts and milk shakes for snacks :)

povánoční slevy jsou moje poslední radost než naplno propukne zkouškové :/ takže jsem toho dnes náležitě využila ;) miláčkovi jsem koupila tričenko Angry birds :D, pořídila jsem si pár triček :) a maminka mi koupila společenské  šatičky které uvidíte v plesové sezoně :)
